Add a window box
There’s no denying the appeal of flowers, and simply adding a flower pot to your front-facing window will fill your home with color and, of course, appeal.
Adding window boxes is easy, plus you don’t have to hire anyone to do it. According to Zillow, homes with window boxes can get 48% more saves and 52% more shares per day on Zillow than similar homes without this feature.

Paint Your Tiles
According to Zillow, homes with painted bricks can get 31% more saves and 39% more shares per day on Zillow than similar homes. Simply painting old, damaged bricks can instantly update your home with little effort.
You can even get creative and paint your house in different shades or colors, to express your personality.
Try open shelving
At The Spruce, we love open shelving—it opens up any room in your home and makes any space appear larger than it actually is. It’s a fun and easy way to display your favorite items and gives any room a cleaner look. It’s also really easy to install yourself and doesn’t cost a fortune.
Combining classic features
Anything vintage will add charm and sophistication to your home and doesn’t have to be expensive. Browse thrift stores and you can easily find vintage rugs, decorative lamps and more.
Outdoor TV Installation
Here’s a fun way to enjoy family time outdoors this summer. Adding an outdoor TV will instantly upgrade your home and set a warm tone throughout. And according to Zillow, it only costs $175 to $300 to install.
Set up fences
When you picture the suburban dream, it’s easy to picture a perfect white picket fence on a perfectly manicured lawn. This is a classic staple for most homes and will definitely give your home more visibility when you’re selling it. Plus, a fence is always a good idea for families with pets.
Build a flower trellis
A pergola is a vertical structure that helps you cool off from the heat. It is often placed in the backyard to provide extra shade in the summer and is becoming increasingly popular with homeowners.
Homeowners are looking for new ways to cool their outdoors and this is the perfect, inexpensive solution.
There is a big fire pit.
Ah, there’s nothing better than relaxing by a campfire after a hard day’s work. And luckily, it’s not hard to do. With just a shovel, bricks or stones, and a few chairs, you can turn your backyard into an oasis.
And an outdoor sound system too
According to Zillow, homes with outdoor sound systems can save an additional 18% per day, and we can see why. While installing an outdoor system isn’t cheap, it’s a great way to get neighbors together and enjoy the outdoors no matter the season. This system is ideal for those who love to host and get people together.
Install smart lighting system
Smart lighting will save you a lot of money on your electricity bill, yes, but it will also help create a more convenient way to control your lighting system. By connecting your lighting system to your smartphone, you can turn any light on or off with just the touch of a button.
